Trinity Defense LLC® was founded in 2007 by Kelly Treece. Kelly is a law enforcement officer and throughout its career she came to the realization that women in the community weren’t being provided with the opportunity and training to protect themselves. Trinity Defense ® training is specifically designed by women for women. The instructors teach practical and realistic self defense techniques in a safe and comfortable learning environment.
About the Instructors…
Kelly Treece: Kelly has been a Police Officer in the state of Wisconsin for over twelve years and currently holds the rank of Sergeant. She is a certified instructor in numerous disciplines including: defensive tactics, taser, professional communication skills, edged weapon defense, etc. Kelly is a Certified Rape Prevention Instructor through AWSDA (Association for Women’s Self Defense Advancement) and currently holds the title of Wisconsin’s Southeastern Regional Representative. Kelly has pledged her commitment to assist in empowering women with the confidence and skills needed to defend themselves.
Mary Treece: Mary has worked in the administration, fitness and non-profit industries for over 30 years. She is working along with Lee Memorial Health System of Fort Myers in teaching "Healthy Brain Initiative of Lee County"; a Memory Training Program developed by Gary Small MD, director of the UCLA center on Aging. She has also completed instructor training in "Brain Aerobics" a software memory program developed by Susanna Goldstein MD of Manhattan, NY. She has completed Trinity Defense's rape prevention course and is truly dedicated to the purpose of this program. Mary will be traveling to New York to become a certified self defense instructor in the fall. Her abilities round out the concept of mind, body and spirit that Trinity Denfense is based on.
About the Logo…
The trinity knot (triquetra) comes from Latin, meaning “three cornered.” There are several schools of thought when discussing the meaning. The most common belief is that the three corners represent the mind, body and spirit. The circle, which goes through the three interconnected loops, emphasizes that through the combination of the three elements a “whole” is created, thus creating unity. Another belief is that the three cornered symbol draws upon the inherent feminine powers – the matriarch, the mother and the maiden. In combining the two beliefs we believe the logo represents the ultimate mission of Trinity Defense ®. Once a woman has embraced the unity within; she empowers herself and is ultimately unstoppable.
